Request a briefingWho this is for
Finance directors, controllers, and audit-committee chairs who need a single client-side contact while an external auditor conducts statutory or special-purpose work. The engagement suits first-year auditor transitions, multi-entity groups with staggered year-ends, and teams that lost institutional knowledge after staff turnover.
Result you can expect
A coordinated fieldwork window: the auditor receives an indexed prepared-by-client (PBC) pack on the agreed date, queries are logged in one place, and management knows which items still require owner or board input before the representation letter is signed.
Scope included
- Kickoff against the auditor’s engagement letter and PBC request list
- Mapping of lead schedules, trial-balance bridges, and prior-year open points
- Coordination of inventory counts, bank confirmations, and interview diaries
- Daily or thrice-weekly query log during active fieldwork
- Draft support for management responses to review points (client remains author)
Scope excluded
- Signing the auditor’s opinion or acting as the statutory auditor
- Bookkeeping catch-up beyond items needed for the current audit cycle
- Tax filing preparation unless separately commissioned
- Litigation support or forensic investigations
Provider & approach
Senior liaison practitioners with Hong Kong statutory audit backgrounds work alongside your accounting staff. We do not replace your auditor; we reduce friction between the two sides of the table.
Process
- Briefing — share year-end month, auditor firm, entity list, and last cycle’s pain points.
- Readiness sprint — build or cleanse the document index before the auditor arrives.
- Fieldwork cover — on-site or hybrid presence during the agreed visit windows.
- Close-out — residual points, representation-letter checklist, and handover notes for next year.
Duration & location
Most single-entity engagements span six to fourteen weeks. Multi-entity groups extend with concurrent calendars. Work is delivered at your Hong Kong premises (including Kwun Tong and nearby business districts) with remote document rooms when travel is unnecessary.
Preparation we ask of you
Access to the general ledger export, prior-year financial statements, fixed-asset register, major contracts, and a named internal counterpart who can approve document releases.
Constraints
We cannot override auditor independence rules or disclose restricted working papers belonging to the audit firm. Timing depends on when your books are closed enough for substantive testing.
Pricing basis
Quoted from HK$48,000 for a focused single-entity liaison cycle. Multi-entity groups, first-year auditor changes, and compressed calendars are priced after the briefing. See the fees page for estimate factors.
